A new art history class at Perkins Center! Come discover the incredible talent that was largely developed and nurtured in our own backyard, Philadelphia. From the tempestuous landscapes of Winslow Homer to the disquieting portraits of Thomas Eakins, students will learn about the influential artists whose works can be found at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Appreciation will be gained through the introduction of artist’s backgrounds, descriptions and comparative analysis of their work, and a look at the country and society that helped to influence it.
